iOS 11 Betas are Released

Apple has finally released betas of iOS 11, and it looks like Apple has really changed a lot about iOS.

As you can see Apple has changed the control center. It now has more options, and has a completely different layout. You can also add more apps in the system settings. It also has toggles now. If you have an iPhone 6s or 7 you can use the 3D touch feature to enlarge the folder containing the airplane mode, data, WiFi and Bluetooth toggles.

On the iPad side of things Apple has added a dock to the bottom of the screen, it kind of looks like the one on MacOS. According to Apple you can swipe up on any screen and the dock will appear, and you can hold an apps icon and drag it onto the screen enabling you to Multitask.

Another new thing that's been added to iOS 11 is that iOS devices *finally* have an app where you can view all of the files in your device, like the ones in iCloud and the ones in your devices storage.

Apple Maps has also got an update. Apple claims it's Apple Maps can now give you lane suggestions so it will tell you what lane you should be in while driving on big highways and freeways.

Whats the one things we all missed about iOS 9? Slide to unlock. And yes, it's back! But only if you don't have a pass code on your phone you can swipe up to unlock your device, but if you do, you still have to press the home button so you can enter your sign in details. Another feature on the lock screen, when you unlock your device you will be able to see your lock screen wallpaper. By swiping up once you will see your notifications. This replaces the need for a notification panel on the lock screen. The camera and widgets view still remain the same as on iOS 10. Remember how you would love to take screenshots of music on your iPhone's lock screen, now that has been changed and slightly redesigned. You will be able to see notifications while you're on the lock screen without the music player hogging the whole screen.

Now when you swipe up into the notification panel it will take you back to the look of the lock screen, but it doesn't actually lock the phone.

Now on the phones dock, instead of showing you the app name, it just shows you the app icon. This gives it a much neater and cleaner look. Now the icons for the App Store and iTunes have also been redesigned and so have the apps themselves. You will also be able to purchase in-app purchases from the App Store, and not the app you are purchasing it for.

Siri has also been reworked and redesigned. Apple now claims that Siri will learn more about you a you use it and it will advance over time (kinda like Google Assistant and Bixby) and learn your habits and daily usage details. Siri also finally has a new voice and doesn't sound like an annoying robot, but now it sounds more human, this is for both female and male voices. Siri also got a new interface which looks cleaner and neater to use.

Photos has also been given some new features, particularly on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. When editing a live photo you can add filters, and when you swipe up there are new options. Loop, and Bounce. With loop the photo will be played back a few time, and with Bounce it will make the live photo kind of like an Instagram Boomerang style photo. You can also choose to save specific parts of the live photo if you wish to do so. There is also long exposure which works great for nature and waterfall photos. Portrait mode on iPhone 7 Plus has also gotten an upgrade. It will give a better experience and now supports HDR and filters in Portrait mode. Apple has also added a feature that makes photos and videos use less storage.

One small feature added is on the keyboard on iPad. You can hold a letter and swipe up for a secondary control or key. One last feature Apple has changed is that volume HUD. Remember how whenever you change the volume on your phone a big annoying popup comes on in the middle of the screen bothering your video? Now it's gone, and it is now a small popup that will appear on the top right side of the phone that's smaller.

According to Apple you can expect iOs 11 to be official this fall.
